Raymundo Heads to Wife’s High School Reunion & He's Nervous

Our producer Raymundo is heading to a high school reunion, but not his own. It’s his wife’s! She gets to bring a plus one, and the event is a big tailgate party at her old high school.

He asked the Bobby Bones Show if anyone had been to one before and whether it was a bad idea to go, joking that there would probably be a few ex-boyfriends hanging around. Bobby immediately pointed out that Raymundo should go, if anything, it’s a great chance to “flex” a little. “You’ve done pretty good for yourself,” Bobby said. “You’ve got a house in the country!”

But Raymundo quickly reminded everyone that his wife went to a private school, so the crowd might include a lot of lawyers and doctors. “Never mind,” Bobby laughed. “Forget the flex.” The group then swapped stories about their own reunions or lack thereof. Bobby explained that his school was tiny, with only about 40 people in his class. Their reunions included everyone who had ever graduated, from different generations. Amy went to her 10-year reunion and said it was actually a lot of fun, her ex-boyfriend didn’t show up, and she got to dance, eat, and catch up with old friends.

Bobby asked if she compared herself to anyone, but Amy said not really. Though she did notice that some of the “cool guys” from high school didn’t exactly keep the same shine they had back in the day. Bobby joked that the guys who peak in high school usually don’t stay “that guy” forever, a little life lesson for any kids listening. Eddie shared that he’s never gone to any of his reunions, even though he’s had 10-, 20-, and 25-year ones. They were always too far away in South Texas, but he admitted he’s starting to think maybe he should go to one.

As for Raymundo, he confessed his main concern was running into any of his wife’s exes. especially after one of her old boyfriends once ended up working on their house. “He tried to get a little chummy,” Raymundo said, “and that’s when I shut down the phone number.” Still, he’s planning to go, have fun, and maybe even FaceTime the show to show off a little. “If I call you guys, that’s just me trying to flex,” he laughed. The reunion’s happening this weekend, and everyone’s eager to hear how it goes, especially if there are any awkward encounters.
