The study found that 54% of students are eating tuna at least three times a week, which is exposing them to lots of the toxic heavy metal mercury. 7% of study participants said they ate more than 20 meals containing tuna every week. “I’ve been dumbfounded when students have told me they eat tuna every day,” said lead researcher Myra Finkelstein. “Their lack of knowledge about the risk of exposure to mercury is surprising.”(IFLScience)
