Brett Young shared how his wife and daughters inspired some of his most meaningful tattoos.

The “In Case You Didn’t Know” hitmaker recently caught up with Inked Magazine, and took fans on a “Tattoo Tour” in a clip shared on Instagram on Wednesday (October 29). Young married his wife, Taylor Mills Young, on November 3, 2018. They’ve since welcomed two young daughters, Presley Elizabeth Young, who turned 6 this month, and Rowan Marie Young, who was born in July 2021. The singer-songwriter explained how Presley and Rowan inspired one of his most meaningful tattoos. Young also caught up with Inked about music-inspired tattoos and more.

“I haven’t put anything on my body that wasn’t extremely meaningful to me; however, I have two tattoos on my ribs that are WAV files of the audio from the 8-week appointment of both of my daughters, the first time we heard their heartbeats,” Young shared. “So, I think, just like with my music and my songwriting, it’s gonna be hard to top any of the songs I wrote about my family. (The) tattoo of my daughter’s heartbeats are gonna be hard ones to beat.”

Young was also in the process of a new tattoo with tattoo artist Bubba Irwin. That one includes a Bible verse and an image of the singer’s entire family. Young explained, “I’ve asked Bubba to take the Bible verse about my children. He came up with a cool idea to take this picture that I wanted of my family and myself walking away from the camera holding hands, and turn it into an old polaroid. ...This one’s gonna be pretty special.”

“I had such a good relationship with my dad – the father/son thing, the sports thing – I always thought that I wanted boys. And I immediately changed my mind when we had Presley,” Young previously shared in a statement. “And then there was a lot of conversation about, we’ll just keep going until we at least have one of each. But when we had Rowan, it was just confirmation that I was supposed to be a girl dad. I’m in love with it. I don’t feel the need to have a son anymore. I just love the way my relationship is with both of my daughters. It’s different. I mean, it changes you a little bit, but in a lot of good ways. I think I love differently and more deeply than I ever did before, and not just with them, but it opened my capacity to love that way in general with everybody in my life.”
