Can you get anymore #CouplesGoals than Tim McGraw and Faith Hill? The Grammy-award winning country stars shared their brand new collaboration "Speak to a Girl" via Arista Nashville, the lead single from their upcoming joint album set to be released by Sony Music Entertainment sometime this year.
"Speak to a Girl" was co-written by Shy Carter, Dave Gibson, and Joe Spargur, and co-produced by Byron Gallimore, Tim, and Faith. The song meaning is very self-explanatory from its title, and is about how to speak to a girl, and how to treat a girl. Being that Tim and Faith have three teenage daughters of their own, they're pretty much experts on the subject.
The couple is set to perform the song together at the 52nd ACM Awards on Sunday, April 2nd.
We recently caught up with Tim and Faith in Nashville, and they told us all about the meaning behind their new song and what it was like to be in the studio together to make it.
"When you have three daughters, and you are lucky enough to come across a song that says 'Speak to a Girl,' it kinda resonates with us pretty quickly," Faith tells us on the meaning behind "Speak to a Girl." She adds, "I think it's important, particularly this day and time that we live in, words matter. It's important how we speak to one another, but it's particularly important how a female, how a girl, learns to be spoken to and how she speaks to others. I think it's vitally important."
The couple tells us they had a "fun" time being back int the studio together to work on their new music. Tim tells us of the process:
"It was a lot of fun. We were in the same room singing together, and the music that we recorded was so fantastic. And on 'Speak to a Girl,' I don't know if this is a secret or not, but, when we were in the studio recording 'Speak to a Girl,' and just laying the tracks down, for me, it was like a quarter horse trying to keep up with a thoroughbred, singing in there [with Faith]. So when you listen to this track, what you hear Faith sing is what [we] heard when she sang the day we were in the tracking room laying down the song. And mine, I had to do a little work on mine, but she just nailed hers right off the bat. I mean, she was done with the song the first day."
Also, as expected, they were completely adorable. We said it before, and we'll say it again: #Goals.
